Hello all,

I became a mother at age 46. Today I am 54 and my daughter is 7. I have always written but mainly professionally as I am a clinical social worker. Since the birth of my daughter I have been reading books on mothering and writing essays. I am thrilled to finally be a part of the mother club and my stories are universal. Yet, being an older mom I find some realistic material missing. Older mothers need to speak up and share stories. In essence, I want to embrace my aging but yet I have a young child so I stop short and feel that I’m missing out on “something”. I’m hoping this blog will lead to something but my intention is simply-to share a forum to discuss mothering from an older perspective and to feel connected to the universe.  Thanks to all who visit and read!!
